A suitcase left outside the Federal Aviation Administration’s Atlanta TRACON building in Peachtree City early this morning led police to treat it as a possible explosive device, officials said.

It wasn’t until later that it was learned the suitcase had been accidentally left behind by a TRACON employee whose wife picked him up at the facility, police said.

Because the suitcase was up against the building, officials had no choice but to treat it as a potential explosive device, police said. Bomb-sniffing dogs from Ft. Gillem were called in to assess the risk, and ultimately police learned the suitcase didn’t contain any explosives, police said.
