Mark Twain's beloved 1876 novel, "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer," is about a young boy growing up in the antebellum south on the Mississippi river. The play version will be on the main stage this September at the Newnan Community Theatre Company.

Auditions for the show are July 6 and 7 at the theatre. There are roles for all ages. Auditions will begin at 7 pm and actors may attend either evening to try out for a role.

"The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" is being directed by Lamar Payne and is part of the theatre's 2009 season. The show dates are September 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, and 27.
