COS children’s ministry offers activities during July

Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church will offer various programs for children and youth this summer.

“Crocodile Dock” Vacation Bible School for kids entering Pre-K through fifth grade will be offered July 6-10, from 9 a.m. to noon. There is no charge. Register online at www.coslutheran.org

A parenting class will be offered Monday-Thursday mornings during VBS from 9-10:30 a.m. Parents are invited to drop off their children and stay for Dr. Kevin Leman’s parenting series, “Have a New Kid by Friday: How to Change Your Child’s Attitude, Behavior and Character in 5 Days.”There is no charge and light refreshments will be provided.

The second meeting of the Parent-Child Book Club takes place Monday, July 6 at 7 p.m. The theme this month is mystery books, and a special “mystery guest” will join participants. Intrigue and fun are on the agenda.The event is free and includes light snacks.

Soda and Scripture Bible study and games for rising fourth and fifth graders is Wednesday nights in July from 6:30-8 pm. Those attending are asked to bring their Bibles. The event is free and snacks will be provided. Call the church office to sign up, 770-487-8717.

Christ Our Shepherd packs and distributes sack lunches for children served by the Fayette County Department of Family and Child Services on Monday mornings throughout the summer. Families are invited to help participate in this ministry to local children.
