PTC Library to stretch hours for school yearFri, 06/26/2009 - 3:17pm
By: The Citizen
Shorter schedule starting next summer When school starts back up in August, the Peachtree City Library will go back to being open longer on weeknights. Also, the library’s Wednesday hours will be increased to stretch from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. from the current time of noon-6 p.m. The flip side is that the library will have shorter hours starting next summer, closing at 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and at 5 p.m. the rest of the week. During the summer the library will open at 9 a.m. instead of 10 a.m. all days except Sunday. Library Administrator Jill Prouty said the change to “seasonal hours” was supported by the results of a brief survey of library patrons. “The later weekday hours should please our local students who need extra time in the evening to complete their assignments” during the school year, Prouty said. “I think our Wednesday users will also appreciate the consistency of the new schedule.” For more information, visit the library’s website at www.peachtree-city.org/library; or, call 770-631-2520. login to post comments |
