The Crime Suppression Unit of Palmetto Police conducted simultaneous drug raids June 19 that resulted in two arrests and charges for the sale of methamphetamine and prescription drugs. Teresa Chandler, 46, was arrested at 620 Main Street and Joseph Chaffin, 34, was arrested next door at 622 Main, according to Chief Luther Graham. Both were also charged with using a communications device to facilitate a drug transaction, Graham said. An undisclosed amount of drugs were seized at the scene, he said. Chandler and Chaffin were inside the residences while a number of other individuals were outside in the rear of the houses as 20 officers from Palmetto Police and Coweta County Crime Suppression Unit, along with Coweta’s K-9 Unit, conducted the raid. Chaffin and Chandler were transported to Fulton County Jail. Graham said agents established probable cause for the raids during a 2-month investigation.
