Flicks at the Fred features American Graffiti on June 20Fri, 06/19/2009 - 3:32pm
By: The Citizen
Bring the family out to The Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater on June 20 to enjoy free movie entertainment under the stars sponsored by Dolce Hotels and Resorts and Dixieland Fun Park. “American Graffiti,” directed by George Lucas, is an American classic film which showcases “newcomers” Harrison Ford, Richard Dreyfuss, Suzanne Somers and "Ronny" Howard. Lucas masterfully weaves together the stories of this disparate group of high school students as they struggle with the adolescent rites of passage in 1962. Touching and timeless, “American Graffiti” is a not-to-be-missed classic. Featuring rock ‘n roll music and the “happy days” of the ‘50s and early ‘60s, the movie will be shown in honor of Peachtree City’s 50th Birthday. “American Graffiti” was selected by the American Film Institute as one of the greatest 100 movies ever made. It is rated PG. Gates will open at 8 pm, with show time at 9 pm or dark. There will be games, contests and prizes as well as free popcorn provided by Dolce Hotels and Resorts as well as a virtual roller coaster provided by Dixieland Fun Park.
