Alton "Bro" Taylor Jr., 77, Newnan, died May 13, 2009. He was born May 8, 1932 in Newnan, the second of six children born to the late Alton and Zulena Taylor. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie Denise Taylor. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served three years. He was a student of the Coweta County schools and was graduated from Howard Warner High School in 1956. He was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church, where he was a trustee and a member of its male chorus.

Services were at Zion Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. W. J. Johnson officiating. Interment was at Eastview Cemetery. Survivors include his children, Angela Willis, and Alton "Tony" Taylor III, both of Newnan, and Karen Berry, Luthersville; a brother, Charlie Taylor, Newnan; a sister, Frances and Pete Smith, Newnan; 11 grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mirian Taylor, Newnan; and special friends, Beverly Pender, Newnan, and Jimmy Howard, Williamsburg, N. J. Roscoe Jenkins Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.
