The grand opening of the Habitat for Humanity’s Habitat ReStore in Newnan was held June 13 at the its new location at 150 Pine Road, across from the Coweta County Fairgrounds. The ReStore provides a one-stop shopping venue for those wanting to purchase furniture or appliances and anyone with ideas of home remodeling.

By all counts, the ReStore in a furniture and hardware store combined. Need a sofa or wood stain or a dining room table or sheet metal screws? Not a problem. The large store includes a retail area, warehouse and receiving area. A trip through the store revealed a variety of home furnishing and remodeling opportunities. A sampling of the endless selections included washers, dryers, stoves, all kinds of living room and dining room furniture, tables, bookshelves, entertainment centers, doors, baby beds, windows, light fixtures, blinds, ceiling fans and a large assortment of hardware.

Opening day activities included Christian music of Joe and Gina Ables, laughs with Chuckles the Clown with his comedy act, custom balloon creations, face-painting, magic tricks and other general silliness. And the grill in the parking lot was fired up to accommodate free hot dogs to the first 500 customers.

The Habitat ReStore is open Tuesday-Friday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
