Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Whitman of Fayetteville and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Rhodes of Lawrenceville announce the engagement of their daughter, Rebekah Denise Rhodes, to Kevin Andrew Nowak, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Nowak of Hoschton.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest King of Fayetteville, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Whitman of Abbeville, Ga., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Rhodes. She is a senior at Truett-McConnell College where she is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in early childhood education.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Fredrick Nowak of Memphis, Tenn. and the late Mary Nowak, and Carolyn Wade of Selmer, Tenn., and the late James Wade. He is a senior at Truett-McConnell College where he is earning a bachelor of arts in Christian studies with a minor in history. He will attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, upon graduation.

The church wedding will be Saturday, August 8, 2009, in Peachtree City. Following a honeymoon in St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Cleveland, Ga.
