A two-day revival begins tonight, Feb. 15, and will continue through tomorrow night to kick off historic Flat Rock A.M.E.’s Men’s Day celebrations. Both services begin at 7 p.m. The entire community is invited to attend. The Rev. John Hatcher, pastor of Outreach International Center in Fayetteville and long-time columnist for The Citizen, will be the guest revivalist for Wednesday and Thursday’s services. The theme will be, “Christian men putting away childish things to assume our place as servants of God.” Casual dress is encouraged. Events will conclude Sunday, Feb. 19 with two special services and a free church dinner. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., with dinner served between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. The Rev. H.E. Terrell, former presiding elder of the A.M.E. Church South Georgia district, will preach the 11 a.m. sermon, and the Rev. Melvin Ware, pastor of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Fayetteville, will preach the 3 p.m. sermon. Flat Rock A.M.E. Church is at 148 Old Chapel Lane, just east of Adams Farm and the Marnelle Mobile Estates and just west of the postal carrier center. The Rev. Edward J. Johnson Jr. is pastor.
