June Mulkey Deyton, 79, Tyrone, died June 1, 2009. She was an active member of Tyrone First Baptist Church, where she taught Vacation Bible School and Sunday School. She was active in the Tyrone community and was the 1991 Tyrone Citizen of the Year. Services were at the Tyrone First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Farren Roper and the Rev. Dr. Jim Burdette officiating. Interment was at Sharon Memorial Gardens, Tyrone.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Harlie C. Deyton, Tyrone; a son, Tom Deyton, Morganton, Ga.; daughters, Cynthia and David Florence, Fernandina Beach, Fla., Sandra Stiltner, Tyrone, and Margaret and Jimmy Thomas, Concord, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Johnny Mulkey, Ashville, N.C.; a sister, Jerry Scroggs, Clyde, N.C.; and caregiver, Verdelle Cook. Memorial donations may be given to the National Autism Association, 1330 W. Schatz Lane, Nixa, MO 65714. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
