Charles Henry Carter Jr., 81, Peachtree City, died June 5, 2009. He was a veteran of the United States Army for 27 years before retirement. Following his military career, he and his family served the Athens, Clarke County area for 22 years in the funeral business as owners and operators of Bernstein Funeral Home. He loved music, traveling in his RV and spending time with friends.
Memorial services will be this Saturday, June 13, at the Carl J. Mowell chapel, Peachtree City.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Beverly Teat Carter, Peachtree City; a son, Chuck and Susan Carter, Watkinsville; daughters, Suzanne Carter, Athens, and Patty and Ed Richardson, Peachtree City; and grandchildren, C. J. Carter, Watkinsville, Lindsey Richardson and Carter Richardson, both of Peachtree City. Memorial donations may be given to the Christian City Children's Home, 7300 Lester Rd., Union City, GA 30291. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.
