Braelinn retired teacherTue, 06/09/2009 - 4:03pm
By: The Citizen
Judie Thompson has ended her teaching career after nineteen years at Braelinn Elementary School. She is one of the several original faculty members who opened the school in 1990. Although, Mrs. Thompson, unlike others, has been in the SAME classroom for the entire 19 years! Doesn't she rightfully own it under the homestead act... LOL Mrs. Thompson has taught first and second grades for a combined total of 34 years in both Illinois and Georgia. She says she'll really miss the wonderful kids and her many teacher friends, but is looking forward to sleeping late and pursuing other interests. The day before Mrs Thompson retired, she fell in the hall and broke her toe.... could it be she just couldn't face packing up all those boxes?!? Or did she just want to leave with a big Hoorah? We will miss you, Mrs. Thompson. And as a current student says "She is the best teacher in the whole world!" Thank you for your dedication, and enjoy retirement! login to post comments |
