A local group of volunteers is helping to Keep Peachtree City Beautiful by picking up litter along the city’s paths.  The Fayette office of Hands For Hire, Inc., a training service for adults with developmental disabilities, contacted Al Yougel of KPTCB recently for possible projects for local clients.

“I recommended cleanup on some of Peachtree City’s more heavily used paths and provided grabbers and garbage bags,” Yougel said. “Now this wonderful group of volunteers spends two hours each Wednesday helping to clean up litter in our community.”

KPTCB urges residents to help pick up trash on the paths, participate in programs to clean up “adopt” a cart path, a park, a stream or a mile of roadway.

The organization also asks residents to teach friends and neighbors about the city’s recycling program and also to report littering activity to the police department, while being willing to testify in court if necessary.
