The City of Fairburn has received a copy of Tyrone’s recently approved sewer contract and should take up the issue at a February meeting.

Fairburn City Administrator Jim Williams said Wednesday that he had received a copy of the agreement, approved Feb. 2 by the Tyrone City Council. Williams said he had not yet reviewed the contract but anticipated that Fairburn council members would address it during one of its February meetings.

Two years in the making, the Tyrone contract acknowledges Fairburn’s decision not to build its own wastewater treatment facility, opting instead to continue using Fulton County’s Camp Creek Wastewater Facility. The contract does not contain a proposal for any increase in capacity.

The Fairburn City Council meets Feb. 13 and Feb. 27.
