Gordon Maxwell Webster

Gordon Maxwell "Max" Webster, 93, Peachtree City, died May 23, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Mary Taylor Webster. He was born in Teeswater, Ontario, Canada, later moving to Georgia with his family while still an infant. He was a charter member of the Peachtree City United Methodist Church, devoting many hours to the church facilities during its early growth. He was a brother in Christ to fellow members of the Ad Loy Ho Sunday School Class. He took pleasure in working around the house, making furniture, tending his garden, and growing orchids. Services were at the Peachtree City United Methodist Church with the Rev. Herzen Andone, and the Rev. Stephen Kendrick officiating.

Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include a son, John and Carol Stovall Webster, Roswell; a daughter, Linda Prater, Newnan; a grandson, Patrick and Jennifer DeNeve Prater, Boca Raton, Fla.; granddaughters, Paige Prater and Scott Creasman, Atlanta, and Jill Webster and Stephen Kendrick, Albany, Ga.; eight great-grandchildren; one nephew; two great-nieces; five great-nephews; and one great-great-niece. Memorial donations may be made to the Peachtree City United Methodist Church. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.
