The Rev. and Mrs. Jimmie Nettles of Albany announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Ruth, to Benjamin Dyar Parten, son of Mr. and Mrs. Benne Parten of Peachtree City.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the Rev. and Mrs. James B. Riley and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Nettles. She is a 2005 graduate of Lee County High School and a 2009 graduate of Valdosta State University with a bachelor of science in education. She will attend Valdosta State University in the fall of 2009 to pursue her master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Helen Tate, the late Joseph Tate, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Parten. He is a 2005 graduate of McIntosh High School and a 2008 graduate of Valdosta State University with a bachelor of fine arts in mass media. He is currently employed at 101.1 WAFT Radio in Valdosta.

The wedding will be June 20, 2009, at Park Avenue United Methodist Church in Valdosta, with reception to follow.
