Fit 4 a New Life will offer a summer enrichment camp, June 1-Aug. 7. There will be Math, Reading and English daily with fun and exciting field trips. Orientation is May 23 and 30 from 12-4 p.m. The fee is $85 per week and a $50 application fee. Phone 770-719-1838 or www.fit4anewlife.com

The Starr’s Mill High School Pantherette Dance Camp, open to rising 1st-8th graders, will take place June 8-11 from 9 a.m.-noon. You don't want to miss this fun-filled week of fast action dancing with the Georgia Dance Championship pom winners. Come and learn dance moves and routines from the team. Whitewater High School will offer a volleyball skills camp June 8-11. Rising 4th-6th graders will meet from 2:30-4:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday for a fee of $80. Rising 7-9th graders will meet from 5-8:30 p.m. Monday-Wednesday and from 5:30-9:30 p.m. on Thursday for a fee of $150. All players will receive a camp t-shirt. The first 25 players registered will receive a camp volleyball. The camp, designed for beginner to intermediate skilled players, will be under the direction of Whitewater head coach Ben Thacker and the entire Whitewater volleyball staff. Former Wildcat and current collegiate player Casey Howett (Armstrong-Atlantic State University) will also serve as a guest instructor as will several former college volleyball players. Arts Clayton will offer the Kaleidoscope Summer Art Camps June 8-19. Students entering grade 1-6 this fall will meet mornings at Swint Elementary from 8:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. The fee for the two week camp is $170. Middle school students entering grades 7-9 this fall will meet at Swint Elementary at varying times June 8-19. The program teaches cartooning and animation classes as well as digital photography, drawing, painting, and sculpture. The ‘All About Legs Camp’ in Tyrone is an exciting ccamp that will look at animals & the number of legs they do/don’t have. Classes include live animals and bio facts. Songs, poems, books, games, activities and crafts keep the class fun. Camp is open to children in grades 1-3. The camp runs June 8-12 from 9 a.m.-noon and July 6-10 from 1-4 p.m. The fee is $100. Copperhead Lacrosse will have middle school and youth summer day clinics June 9-11 and July 7-9 from 9-11 a.m. at the Central Education Center in Newnan. The clinics are open to risng 2nd-8th graders. The registration fee is $95 before June 1 and $120 on or after June 2.

The ‘Classy Critter Camp’ in Tyrone is a camp where participants, in grades 4-6, will learn about the different classifications of animals. Live animals will be used. Learn through preserved species, skulls, wings, feet, fur, bones and pelts. The camp runs June 15-19 from 1-4 p.m. for a fee of $100 as well as July 13-17 from 9 a.m.-noon for a fee of $100. McIntosh High School will offer Mini Cheerleading Camp June 15-18 at J.C. Booth Middle School from 1-4 p.m. and July 27-30 at McIntosh High School from 1-4 p.m. All ages welcome. $80 per child and $60 for each additional sibling. The Peachtree City School of Dance will offer several camps this summer. The McIntosh Chiefettes will offer summer dance camps June 22-25 at J.C. Booth Middle School and July 13-16 at McIntosh High School. Camps run from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday with a Show and Yell on Thursday from 12-12:30 p.m. followed by a recital from 12:30-1 p.m. The cost is $95 and includes two dance routines instructed by the three time State Champion Chiefettes, snacks, lunch on the last day before the recital, t-shirt, and recital gift. The Legacy Theatre in Tyrone will offer the High School Musical summer camp July 20-24 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. (children ages 5-7 go for half days). This camp will let your child experience dance classes, theater games, a talent show, private voice lessons and much more. A number will be taught to campers from “High School Musical 3” and will be performed as pre-show entertainment for The Legacy Theatre’s production of “Disney’s High School Musical 2.” All classes are taught by theatre professionals at south Metro Atlanta’s only full-time professional theatre. Camp Action Project is highly motivated toward providing at-risk youth in our community the opportunity to participate in a safe and fun environment for a 5-day experience, totally free of charge. Camp Action Project is open to children, ages 8 to 14 years old, of foster care, single parent, and underprivileged homes. Camp t-shirt, afternoon meal, and activities are provided free through generous donations and sponsorships of private/public businesses and individuals throughout our community. Camp Action Project provides structured activities designed to develop unity, teamwork, leadership, mentorship, friendship, spirituality, as well as physical fitness. This sponsored event will be held daily at the Fellowship Hall of 1st Baptist Church of Peachtree City from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m., July 21-25. Premier Academy of Martial Arts and 1st Baptist Martial Arts Ministry will provide supervision. Activities and events include opening ceremonies, guest speakers, Martial Arts training, life skills training, games, crafts, and a 12-event Olympics. Awards, certificates, medals, and trophies will be presented during the camps closing ceremony. Parents or families are encouraged to attend. On Monday, June 1, 2009, the students of Premier Academy of Martial Arts will be holding a Kick-a-thon at First Baptist Church in Peachtree City.  We invite the families of children interested in coming to Camp Action, to come to the Kick-a-thon for a demonstration, meet-and-greet with the students and staff of Camp Action, and to sign up for camp.  Registration for Camp Action is limited to 100 chldren.  Come join us for the Kick-a-thon from 5:30-8 p.m. For those who are not able to join us for the Kick-a-thon and would like to sign up for Camp Action, please send an email to  thecampactionproject@gmail.com.  Please include the name and age of your child, phone number, email and/or mailing information, and if your child has special needs, dietary requirements, food or drug allergies. All children must be physically evaluated and cleared by a doctor to participate in camp activities.
