A Grantville diesel mechanic has revealed a $1 million prize. Robert Baker Jr., 42, won playing the Georgia Lottery's 15th Anniversary Millionaire Extravaganza instant game.

While getting gas at Money Back #0014, 1831 E. Main St. in Hogansville, Baker purchased the lucky ticket. He scratched half of the ticket in his car and the other half at the family-owned diesel mechanic shop.

"It was unbelievable," he said. "I totally did not believe it at first."

The lucky lottery winner said he now plans to pay bills and invest the remainder of his winnings.

"It's like a dream come true," he shared.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned more than $10.5 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Pre-K Program. More than 1.1 million students have received HOPE, and more than 940,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
