Charles C. Rowe

Charles C. Rowe, 84,Fayetteville, died May 4, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Slay Rowe. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in both the United States Army and the United States Air Force. After retiring from the military he worked for 14 years in supply chain management for the Trane Corporation. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a member of its Clown Ministry, and was fondly knows as "Uncle Dudley the Clown." He enjoyed fishing and was an accomplished do-it-yourselfer.

Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel. Survivors include a son, Steve and Connie Rowe, Snellville; a daughter, Wanda Dean Rowe and James Greer, Benton, Ark.; grandsons, Zachary Rowe, and Brady and Tabitha Rowe, all of Snellville, Clay Rowe, New Orleans, James and Melissa Greer Jr., Eldorado, Ark, and Charles Greer, Benton, Ark.; granddaughters, Michelle Greer, and Rachel Greer, both of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Marty Floyd Rowe, Kansas City, Kan.; and a sister, Effie Lenora Hart, Houma, La. Memorial donations may be made to the New Hope Clown Ministry, or to the Fayette Samaritans, P. O. Box 1071, Fayetteville, GA 30214. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
