Edd Lewis Simmons

Dr. Edd Lewis Simmons, 82, Fayetteville, died May 5, 2009. He was a 1943 graduate of Russell High School. He practiced dentistry for 55 years in the military, in Fairburn, East Point, College Park, Cedartown, and Ben Hill. He was a member of the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, the North District Association, and the Atlanta Chapter of the American Theatre Organ Society. Services were at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Partridge and the Rev. Mark Westmoreland officiating. Interment was private.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Norma Roton Simmons; sons, Lewis Simmons Sr., and Wade R. and Carmen Simmons, all of Luthersville; daughters, Celeste and Larry Shumake, LaGrange, Lynette S. and Allen McCullough, and Nancy and Brian Lindsey, all of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Mark Shumake, Christina Cromer, Jenna Judd, Greg Simmons, Brian Simmons, Joshua McCullough, Megan Vieira, Nicki McCullough, Amanda Lindsey, Eric Lindsey, and Jason Lindsey; and great-grandchild, Chase Wade Simmons. Memorial donations may be made to the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, or the Atlanta chapter of the American Theatre Organ Society, P. O. Box 462, Marietta, GA 30061-0426. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
