Coweta Youth Named to Congressional Academy for American History & Civics.
Jon Landon of Senoia, a student at East Coweta High School, has been accepted to attend the 2009 Congressional Academy for American History & Civics.

Students participating in the Congressional Academy will spend thirteen days in Washington DC with a day trip each to Philadelphia and Gettysburg. The Academy is a rigorous, undergraduate-level program. Students who successfully complete the course, as well as additionally assigned reading and an exam, will receive three undergraduate credits from the Political Science department at Ashland University.

Landon and his family are members at Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church, Sharpsburg, where he is active in the youth program and in liturgical ministry. He is also part of the U. S. Marine Corps JROTC program at East Coweta.
