Jane Dennis Crowe, 63, Fayetteville, died April 26, 2009. She was born October 16, 1945, daughter of the late Douglas and Henrietta Redwine Dennis. She earned her B.A. in English education from Florida State University in 1968, an M.A.T. in English from Georgia State University in 1975 and her Ph.D. in English education from Georgia State University in 1982. She taught at schools in North Clayton, Pace Academy, DeKalb Community College and College Park High School. She became head of the Advanced Placement Program of the English department at McIntosh High School. Even in semi-retirement she continued teaching at Whitewater and Sandy Creek middle schools. Services were at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Westmoreland officiating. Interment was at Westminster Cemetery, Peachtree City. Survivors include her husband of six years, John Crowe, Fayetteville; a son, Dennis and Erica Ramig, Fayette, N.C.; her aunt and namesake, Jane Redwine Dickerson, McDonough; sisters, Deb Smith, and Bess Cheney, both of Fayetteville; and a granddaughter, Shelley Jane, Fayette, N.C. Memorial donations may be made to the Fayette County Humane Society. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge. login to post comments |
