Members of the United Methodist Men at Hopewell UMC in Tyrone will hold their annual Chick-n-Que at the church on Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., or until they sell out. Tickets are $7.50 each. The meal consists of half a barbecued chicken, cole slaw, baked beans, and bread. Proceeds will help fund the upcoming mission trip to Ecuador. The mission group will depart for Shell, Ecuador on June 8, where they will spend a week helping build a cottage for the Casa de Fe Orphanage. The orphanage takes in native Indian children with serious physical problems. Purchase tickets for the Chick-n-Que at the church, 351 Jenkins Rd., across the street from Sandy Creek High School. The church will also hold a bake sale and yard sale that day. For more information on any of these activities, contact Hopewell church, 770-306-7537. login to post comments |
