While other areas of metro Atlanta fared far worse, Fayette County dodged most of the wrath of an overnight storm system, officials reported.

There was a tornado warning issued for the storm system, but Fayette ended up mostly with a few downed trees that snapped power lines, officials said.

Most of those incidents were in the Tyrone area and in the center of the county, emergency officials said.
