Hopewell United Methodist Church in Tyrone will host a 12-hour prayer vigil on Thursday, May 7, the National Day of Prayer, beginning at 7 a.m. and concluding at 7 p.m that evening.

The church will be open all day for church members and anyone in the community to stop by and offer a prayer.

There are 24 prayer segments available so that every minute of the day is covered by prayer. Contact the church office, 770-306-7537, to sign up for one of the 30-minute segments.

“Because of the world-wide economic crisis, the devastating results of recent bouts of violent bad weather, and the continuing conflict in the Middle East, we need prayer now more than ever,” a spokesperson said.

Hopewell United Methodist is at 351 Jenkins Road, across from Sandy Creek High School.
