The Christ’s Church at Whitewater Preschool and Play Day is now registering students for the kindergarten class. Kindergarten will offer a smaller class size.

According to Kristy Chase, preschool director, “We are working to find the best curriculum for our program that will grow the children spiritually as well as fully prepare them for first grade in Fayette and surrounding counties.”

Jeanie Gunnin, who has been teaching in Clayton County for approximately 25 years will teach the kindergarten class. Gunnin’s first five years were spent as a parapro in the special education department, and she has taught grades K-3 in the regular classroom. She has been an early intervention teacher for the last seven years working with grades K-5. Gunnin has a T-4 in early childhoodeducation and a reading specialist certification.

The non-refundable registration fee is $200, curriculum fee is $50, and monthly tuition is $200 per month.

The Christ’s Church play day program is for babies ages six months through two years old. Classes are offered four days a week. Preschool classes are available three, four, and five days a week for three year olds. The four year old program includes classes for four and five days.

All classes run from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Parents must provide a lunch each day. The school follows the Fayette County school calendar.

The first day of school is Aug. 17. A parent/student orientation is Thursday, Aug. 13 at 10 a.m.
