Recently members of the Peachtree City Fire Department were invited to come to the church to receive gifts from the Children’s Ministry for the work they do in protecting the city when accidents and emergencies occur. About 100 children greeted the fire crews as they came by to show off one of its engines as well as one of the four rescue ambulances serving Peachtree City. Also the children got to get up close and personal with one of the firefighters (aka Ron Knowles) dressed in his gear to demonstrate how the firefighters are dressed when they enter homes under emergency conditions. Many children are frightened at the appearance that many see as “Darth Vader”. In return fire crews accepted gift baskets full of fruit, candy, and personal hand made greeting and thank you cards. The fire department is grateful to the leaders of the children’s ministry headed up by Ms. Kim Hullett. Thanks also go out to the fire crews that participated including Sgt. Marty Cofield, Natalie Johnson, Josh Crawford and Jason Akins. login to post comments |
