Aventure Aviation honored by small business group Aventure Aviation, a supplier of aircraft parts headquartered in Peachtree City, has been selected by the U.S. Small Business Administration as the winner of the 2009 Exporter of the Year for Georgia and Exporter of the Year for the Southeast U.S. The Exporter of the Year award is presented to companies based on the total number of export deals completed in 2008, increase in sales in 2008 compared to previous years, exports as percentage of total sales, the company’s commitment to exporting and to customer service, and the company's innovation and originality in marketing their products or services. Aventure has grown substantially since its formation in 2001 when it began with only one international account and three staff members. Today, exports account for over 90% of its sales and Aventure has increased its staff to thirteen employees. To accommodate this growth, in June 2008, Aventure Aviation expanded and moved into their new custom-built facility on six acres in Peachtree City, GA, located in the Foreign Trade Zone. “We are honored to be presented this award,” says Tiana Hardin, international sales manager at Aventure Aviation. “It’s a testament to our dedicated staff members as we have worked hard as a team to deliver on our promises to international clients. Our location is also helpful to our export strategy — being close to Atlanta’s international airport definitely helps from a logistics point of view when servicing our overseas customers. Also, the assistance of the export teams at the US Commercial Service, Small Business Development Center, Small Business Administration, and Georgia Economic Development has been extremely helpful to our growth – they have helped show us that the international market isn’t just for the big players.” Looking toward the future, Aventure expects its international customer base to grow even more over the next three years as its workforce grows to twenty employees. By winning this regional award, Aventure will be in the running for the SBA’s National Exporter of the Year Award, which will be announced later this year. To be selected from many companies in Georgia and the entire Southeast is indeed a proud achievement for which Aventure Aviation wishes to thank all of its international clients and customers which include airlines, aircraft leasing companies, original equipment manufacturers, aircraft maintenance & repair organizations, private jet operators, airport authorities, fixed base operators, and media publications. Aventure Aviation is an aviation services company built upon a strong customer base comprising of more than 50 airlines and aircraft operators worldwide, providing products and services ranging from aircraft spares distributorship, aircraft sales and leasing, airport ground support equipment, aviation paint and chemical supplies, aircraft component repair management, and asset management on behalf of its client airlines. The company’s headquarters is located in Peachtree City and a sales office is also located in Toronto, Canada and in Maastricht, The Netherlands. Aventure is fully accredited to meet aviation industry standards by the Aviation Suppliers Association, ASA-100, and abides by the guidelines set forth for a parts supplier company in accordance with FAA Advisory Circular AC00-56A. login to post comments |
