By: The Citizen
The Newnan-Coweta Habitat for Humanity (NCHFH) will be relocating its offices and Habitat ReStore beginning Apr. 20 to the old 84Lumber building at 150 Pine Road in Newnan across from the Coweta County Fair grounds. The ReStore will be having a big moving sale through Saturday, Apr. 18 If you are interested in volunteering some time to help Habitat move from one location to another it would be greatly appreciated. They need all the help they can get to make this a smooth transition and to get the ReStore opened at the new location by Apr. 25. Anyone wishing to make a donation to the Newnan Habitat ReStore or to volunteer to help with the move should call Sharon Hazel at 770-252-4061. All donations are tax deductible. Beginning Apr. 21 all donations will be received at the new location at 150 Pine Road. “Habitat’s vision is to be able to offer the opportunity of purchasing a simple, affordable home to at least 10 qualified families each year” said Leslie Merriman, NCHFH Executive Director. “The Habitat ReStore is a key funding source for the Newnan Habitat which generates much needed income and donations to allow us to purchase building materials and provide services for our Habitat homes and families.” This new location will not only provide the Habitat ReStore more space for accepting a much wider variety of donations, while providing easy-access parking, but will also provide space to pre-fab walls for homes; classroom space for Family Partner workshops, as well as much needed space for continued growth -- all under one roof. The NCHFH Habitat ReStore is an outlet center open to the public stocked full of incredible deals that change daily. The ReStore offers a wide variety of items, new and used, including furniture, appliances, cabinets, flooring, lighting, plumbing, building materials, doors, windows and more. Through residential and commercial donations of overstocked, discontinued or slightly used items, the NCHFH Habitat ReStore has diverted over 282 tons of reusable items from landfills by providing these materials to the public at low prices. In turn, the money raised though the sale of these items supplement the cost of building and refurbishing Habitat homes in Coweta County.
