Jeff Fisher has been appointed to serve on the Senoia City Council to fill the vacancy left by councilman Keith Harrison who recently resigned the position. The term expires at the end of 2009.

The 41 year-old Fisher and his family live in Twin Lakes subdivision, where he has been an active member since 2002. He has 23 years of service with the federal government, including 12 in the U.S. Army. Fisher is currently working of U.S. Dept. of Justice at the Atlanta Field Office.

Fisher said he believes he has the experience, skills and abilities necessary to serve the City Council and the citizens of Senioa. He served for 6 years with the White House Communications Agency in Washington where he served a communications liaison between the agency and the general public and foreign governments. Fisher served as president of the Twin Lakes board of directors, is currently on the Providence United Methodist Church Board of Trustees and has served as webmaster on the Century Center Toastmasters Club.

Fisher holds a B.S. in Business Management from National Louis University in Virginia and an MBA in Technology Management from University of Phoenix.

Harrison announced in March he would be resigning to take a “dream job” with the Federal Aviation Administration in Washington, saying that the position would cause him to be out of town frequently. To continue serving on the council would not be fair to the city, the people who elected him and his fellow council members, Harrison said.
