Democrats, unions seek to ban the secret ballot

Liberal Democrats quite often label their grandiose, freedom-killing legislative initiatives with the most heinous and misleading titles. The Employee Free Choice Act is the latest example of these disingenuous titles designed to gain the support of the dumb masses when, in actuality, the exact opposite will be true.

Union membership has declined over the past 30 years from 30 percent to 7 percent. Unions support Democrats at a rate of approximately 98 percent. This is nothing but an attempt to pay back the unions for their support at the expense of the worker.

The primary reason for the decline in union members is that employers treat workers well. Businesses offer good working conditions, decent pay, and adequate benefits without a union demanding that they do so. The employee receives these perks without having to give the union a single penny of their salary.

Most states are right to work states and, thus, are the target of this legislation.

If this new law is passed, a couple of union guys, Rocky and Bruno, will be able to approach you at work with a union card. The card will have your name, address, spouse’s name, children’s names and ages on the card. They will ask if you would like to have your workplace become unionized.

Of course, no intimidation will ever take place but, keep in mind, they know where you live and they know about your family.

If 50 percent plus 1 sign the card, according to the terms of the Union Payback Act, then your company is automatically unionized. There will be no secret ballot vote later, or ever.

Many workers resent money being taken from their pay, in the form of unions dues, only to be spent on Democrat Party candidates and issues.

Under current law, the workers hear the pros and cons from both the union and their employers and then get to decide whether they wish to join the union via secret ballot.

Unions do not fare well in secret ballots, and their goal is to eliminate them.

The ultimate liberal, former senator, presidential candidate, and father of the modern Democrat Party, George McGovern is adamantly opposed to this power grab and is campaigning against it. The secret ballot is sacred to him.

Some studies say that passage of this bill will cost workers an estimated 600,000 jobs. Workers need to write their congressmen and senators demanding they vote against this despicable legislation.
