You’ve got a fresh startBlooming flowers, green grass, more sun. Fresh starts. What a wonderful concept! Springtime makes the world new again. We’re beginning to see it all around us. Bradford pears and daffodils. Azaleas and dogwoods. Blooming flowers, green grass, more sun, and fresh starts. Fresh starts. What a wonderful concept! This Easter here at Prince of Peace, we’re again celebrating spring and the hope it brings. This is true in all our great churches throughout our wonderful community. By the way, yes, we live in a wonderful community. Don’t let the “Free Speech” nay-sayers overtake us. They have full right to speak. But they’re wrong when they only speak of the negative. Are we “perfect”? Of course not. But I’ll take the everyday quality of our lives right here in Fayette County, Georgia, over anywhere else. But that’s a “sermon” for another day. To my dear Baptist friends I say, “Can I get an Amen?” You’re much better at that than are we Lutherans. Thanks. Now ... fresh starts. Does a fresh start sound appealing to you? Have you just gotten married? You’ve already had a fresh start in so many ways, haven’t you? But wouldn’t you like to connect with God in a new way to thank Him for your marriage? Wouldn’t you like to begin a new relationship with God that will strengthen and hold together this new relationship you have with each other? Then come to Easter and get a fresh start here at Prince of Peace or a church near you. Have you recently had a new baby? You’ve already had a fresh start in so many ways, haven’t you? But wouldn’t you like to connect with God in a new way to thank Him for your precious child? Wouldn’t you like to begin a new relationship with God for yourselves and this dear one you’ve brought into this world at His creative hand? Then come to Easter and get a fresh start here at Prince of Peace or a church near you. Do you have a family and all the joy and sorrows that come along with them? Parenthood is not for the weak, is it? It’s actually the hardest job in the whole world because it’s the most important job in the whole world! Would you like a fresh start on parenting and raising your family? Would you like to connect with God in a new way to thank Him for your family? Would you like to begin a new relationship with God for all your family so that you can make better sense out of life together? Would you like to hook up with God’s undefeatable power to lift you through all your defeats? Then come to Easter and get a fresh start here at Prince of Peace or a church near you. Have you recently moved into our wonderful community and are trying to make a fresh start in all aspects of your life, but you haven’t “found a church yet”? Maybe you didn’t even think you were looking for one. That’s O.K. But would you like to find a group of people who share your concerns about life? Would you like to find a group of people who will accept you for who you are and care about you even when they find out you’re not perfect? Would you like to go someplace and hear that God even loves you, faults and all? Would you like to connect with people who know that God has a purpose for all of us in this world, and we’re helping each other find ours? Then come to Easter and get a fresh start here at Prince of Peace or a church near you. Blooming flowers, green grass, more sun. Fresh starts. What a wonderful concept! I simply invite you and encourage you to come Easter Sunday and see what new beginnings God has in store for you ... here at Prince of Peace or at a church near you.
