Barbara H. Hammock, 71, Brooks, died March 21, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, William C. and Christine Keiffer Hurt. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Karl Duggan officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, College Park. Survivors include her husband, Richard T. Hammock, Brooks; son, Barry and Oma Croft, Stockbridge; daughters, Holly H. McCarren, Smyrna, Babby Tharpe, Tallapoosa, and Bonnie Chambers, Forsyth; grandchildren, Margaret Grace and Katy Rose McCarren, Smyrna; brothers, William C. and Alma Hurt, Vero Beach, Fla., and Steve Hurt, Tyrone; and sister, Kay and Jack Duggar, Blairsville. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
