04/25/2009 - 1:00pm 04/25/2009 - 5:00pm Women & HIV/AIDS: African American women living with HIV virus or full-lown AIDS have reached epidemic proportions. Unfortunately, most women don't even know if they are infected. It has been 25 years since AIDS first hit the nightly news, information on how the virus is spread and how to protect oneself is widely available. So the questions remains, why are so many Black women still getting sick? We MUST WAKE UP!!! We still have unprotected sex! We think that it will not impact them or their family members. Women are being infected with their husbands, boyfriends and casual flings. You think you know their history??? They may have been drug abusers, bi-sexual or homosexual. This virus makes its way from the crack house to the suburban bedroom and the young professional living there has no idea she's at risk. We MUST SPEAK UP! Let's Talk Women's Forum is ready to expose this issue and educate our communiity. Be there to be Empowered and receive answers to your questions!
