Charles Edward “Jack” Burcher Jr., 86, Fayetteville, died Jan. 27, 2006. He was born May 13, 1919 in College Park. He served in World War II in the 63rd Signal Battalion. He was an artist, and formed and owned the Burcher Sign Company in the 1950s, which he operated until he retired. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Dr. David Chancey officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery, College Park. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Irene Benefield Burcher, Fayetteville; a son, Charles E. and Sheryl Burcher III, Fayetteville; a daughter, Judy and Steve Kyle, Dunwoody; granddaughters Mary Margaret Kyle, Dallas, Texas, Emily and Joe Ferrell, Brooklyn, N. Y., Jennifer and Mike Herd, Herndon, Va., Samantha and John Shoop, Richmond, Va., Cindy and Chris Conner, Hampton, Allison and James Ashley, Dallas, Texas, and Stacey Burcher, Atlanta; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert D. Burcher, Fayetteville. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge. login to post comments |
