Joe Cosby Kitchens Jr., Hampton, died March 2, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Kitchens, and a brother, Charles A. Kitchens. Services were at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Westmoreland and the Rev. Bob Partridge officiating. Interment was at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta.

Survivors include sons, Joe C. and Suzanne Kitchens III, Tyrone, and James T. and Elizabeth Kitchens, Maitland, Fla.; grandchildren, Pitta and Robert Fink, Fayetteville, David and Mary Kitchens, Sharpsburg, James T. and Shannon Kitchens Jr., Tracey Hauser, and David Hauser, both of Maitland, Fla.; and great-grandchildren, Catherine Fink, and Nicholas Fink, both of Fayetteville, and Emily Kitchens and Kelsey Kitchens, both of Sharpsburg. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
