Charlene Williams Lassetter, 82, Sharpsburg, died March 10, 2009. She was born March 3, 1927 in Thorsby, Ala. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bessie Garrick Williams, and her husband, H. Lamar Lassetter. She was graduated summa cum laude from Piedmont College in Demorest, Ga. She was a homemaker spending her time raising her daughters before working as a medical transcriptionist at Coweta General Hospital. She was an active member of Cokes Chapel United Methodist Church, serving as the choir director, pianist, and organist. She was the longtime treasurer of the United Methodist Women. Services were at the Cokes Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Danny Wilson and Pastor Danny Barton officiating. Interment was at the church cemetery. Survivors include daughters, Jill and Carl McKnight, and Claire and Danny Branch, al of Senoia; and grandchildren, Mac McKnight, Carly McKnight, Macy McKnight, Chloe Branch, and Alex Branch. Memorial donations may be made to the National Foundation for Brain Cancer Research, 4600 East West Hwy., Ste. 525, Bethesda, MD 20814.
