• The following students made the Dean’s list for the fall term at Furman University: Fayetteville - Sarah C. Anderson, Erin N. Hickmon, Chisom J. Onyeuku, Charlotte E. Stell, Melissa K. Troyer. Peachtree City - Karim Kajani.

• Fayetteville resident Kimberly G. Buck made the Dean’s List for fall semester at Georgia Southwestern University.

• Fayetteville resident David Kirsch graduated from Georgia Southwestern University in the fall.

• Cadet Lt. Col Sarah Frawley Burke, a native of Brooks, Ga., was presented with the prestigious Gen. Douglas MacArthur Foundation Award by The Citadel. The award is presented to outstanding cadets of the Association of Military Colleges and Schools. An English major, Burke is commander of the First Battalion and the recipient of a four-year Marine Corps NROTC Scholarship.

While at The Citadel,Burke has been recognized for academic achievement with Dean’s List and Commandant’s List honors. She was the team captain of The Citadel’s women’s soccer team durng her sophomore year. Burke is scheduled to graduate in May and be commissioned as a second lieutenant in U.S. Marine Corps. A graduate of Starr’s Mill High School, she is the daughter of James and Elizabeth Burke.
