“Disney’s Beauty and the Beast” was a very popular movie but it may be even more popular as a musical. The show has had a successful run on Brodway as well as touring around the world and now, Sandy Creek High School, will present the adventures of Belle in the Beast’s enchanted castle. “Beauty and the Beast” is the story of a young woman who rescues her father from the clutches of the Beast by promising to be imprisoned in his castle. Over time, she learns to love the enchanted characters in the castle and forms a friendship with the Beast. When the town ruffian, Gaston, comes to destroy the Beast and “rescue” Belle, the heroes learn what loyalty, love and friendship truly mean. The show features beloved songs like “Gaston,” “Belle,” “Be Our Guest” and, of course, “Beauty and the Beast.” Performances for “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast” will be Thursday – Friday, March 12 – 14 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 15 at 2:30 p.m. in Patriot Hall at Sandy Creek High School in Tyrone. Tickets will go on sale in advance starting Monday, March 9 at the school. Advance ticket prices are $8 for anyone over the age of six and $5 for ages 6 and under. Tickets will be sold at the door on the nights of the show at the box office beginning 30 minutes before each show. Box office prices are $10 for anyone over 6 and $5 for ages 6 and under. The cast of “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast” invite you to join them at Barnes and Noble in Fayetteville on Saturday, March 7 beginning at 11 a.m. for a preview of the show and to help raise money for Sandy Creek choral students who will be traveling to New York City in April to perform in Carnegie Hall.
