Edna Sproles Fowler, 90, Union City, formerly of Cowpens, S.C., died Feb. 27, 2009. She was preceded in death by husbands, Clarence Chapman Sproles, and James Pickney Fowler, and a granddaughter, Amy Giles. She was a member of Heatherwood Baptist Church where she attended the Adult Co-Ed Bible Class. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with Pastor Tom Daugherty officiating. Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park, Spartanburg, S.C.

Survivors include her sister, Louise Hastings, Spartanburg, S.C.; a son, Jerry and Linda Sproles, Fayetteville; a daughter, Judy and Hillman Giles, Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Amy Giles, McKinney, Texas, Jennifer and Tim Borders, Wylie, Texas, Mary Katherine Sproles, Tifton, and Coleman Sproles, Auburn, Ala.; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Heatherwood Baptist Church, Christian City Ministry, 2195 Hwy. 138, Riverdale, GA 30296. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
