By: The Citizen
On Saturday, March 14 from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., First Presbyterian Church of Peachtree City will join churches throughout North America in a revolutionary movement to help parents, grandparents and educators beat the odds in raising a new generation of spiritually-grounded kids — live via satellite on Church Communication Network (CCN). “The challenges facing today’s kids are increasingly tough — overextended families, invasive technologies, unhealthy media influence, pressures to grow up too fast — ” a spokesperson said. “This Revolutionary Parenting daylong conference sends parents an important message: There are no quick fixes, but there is hope. “Based on recent ground-breaking findings from The Barna Group, this simulcast training offers an eye-opening and practical look into the kind of parenting that today’s kids need most.” Renowned parenting experts, George Barna, John Townsend, Jim Burns, and Steve and Valerie Bell will discuss “Keys to Raising Successful Kids,” “Building Morals and Values with Your Kids,” “Building a Strong Family Identity” and more. “The greatest thing that we can do for our world is to equip our children,” says Bill Dallas, founder and CEO of Church Communication Network. “Through this nationwide broadcast, we not only have the potential to strengthen families but to change the course of culture.” George Barna, directing leader of The Barna Group, will help parents learn to establish boundaries, provide leadership, foster faith and more. Dr. John Townsend, author of the million-seller, Boundaries, will explore the dynamics of responsibility and creativity in fostering success. Dr. Jim Burns, president and founder of HomeWord ministry and nationally-syndicated radio show, will discuss the impact that self-esteem and family play in sexuality, drug and alcohol use. Authors and speakers Steve and Valerie Bell will teach parents how to strengthen family bonds through shared values and identity. The cost for the conference is $25 each or $45 per couple which includes a snack and lunch. Register online at www.firstpresptc.com or call 770-487-7757.
