Willie L. Allen, 94, the Sargent community, died Feb. 18, 2009. He was born Dec. 27, 1914 in Coweta County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Eugenia Allen, and a son, Tommy L. Allen. He was a veteran of World War II, and was retired from the Bibb Manufacturing Company. Services were at Providence Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Breanice S. Allen, Sargent; children, Willie Joe and Jeanette Smith, Albert and Louise Barnett, Robert and Margaret Blandenburg, Clarence and Emma Jean Bridges, and Willie L. and Ruby Smith; a brother, Frank Allen; and a sister, Mamie Smith. Roscoe Jenkins Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.
