Michael Lawrence Smoak, 50, formerly of Fayetteville, died Feb. 20, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Virginia Smoak. Memorial services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Larry Ragan officiating. Survivors include his children, Katie and Nicholas Smoak; brothers, Alan and Carolyn Smoak, and David and Vickie Smoak; and a sister, Linda and Will Clarke. Memorial donations may be made to The Foundry, Bessemer, Ala. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
