Theater groups hold auditions for upcoming shows

Auditions for Newnan Community Theatre Company’s production of “The Jungle Book” will be Feb. 23 and 24 at the theatre. Auditions will begin at 7 pm. Those auditioning can attend either night, they don’t have to attend both nights. Auditions are open to children ages 8 to 16. Everyone auditioning will be asked to read from the script. They will play some theater games to see how well they follow directions and how creative they are. Parents, be sure to bring your family/school calendar in order to check rehearsal date conflicts. Show dates are: April 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26.

Southside Theatre Guild will have auditons for the farcical comedy “Whose Wives Are They, Anyway?” at 7 p.m. at the theater on Feb. 23 and 24.

Auditions for “Lucky Stiff” will be held on March 16 and 17 at Newnan Community Theatre Company, 24 1st Avenue in Newnan. Auditions will begin at 7 p.m.

Those auditioning can attend either night, they don’t have to attend both nights. Call backs will be March 19 at 7 p.m. They are looking to cast 10-14 actors, age range is 16 and up and are looking for 5-7 males and 5-7 females.

Actors will be asked to do a cold reading from the script along with a song. The song will be taught and performed during the audition.

“Lucky Stiff” is the story of Harry, who must take his dead Uncle Anthony on one last trip to Monte Carlo in order to inherit six million dollars. The hilarious musical comedy is being directed by Tony Peregoy. Show dates are May 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, and 31.
