Emily Phillips, 74, Franklin, died on Feb. 11,2009. She was born March 18, 1934 in Coweta County. She was preceded in death by her parents, William J. and Willie B. Orr Callaway, her husband, Deacon Clifford Phillips Sr., and brothers, the Rev. W. A. Callaway and Deacon Ed Callaway. At an early age she joined the Elim Baptist Church, and later changed to Bethel Heard Baptist Church where her husband was a member. Services were at the Roscoe Jenkins chapel with the Rev. C. L. Melson officiating. Interment was at Bethel Heard Cemetery. Survivors include children, Clifford Phillips Jr., Tammy and Aubrey Askew, Newnan, Stanley and Debra Phillips, Stuttgart, Germany, Terry Phillips, Franklin, and Christopher and Mary Phillips, LaGrange; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; four brothers; two sisters; mother-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and one sister-in-law. Roscoe Jenkins Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.
