James Benjamin "Jimmy" Hutchinson Jr., Senoia, died Feb. 13, 2009. He was born Sept. 30, 1935 in Griffin, son of the late James B. and Kathleen Estes Hutchinson. He was a graduate of Newnan High School and attended the University of Georgia where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order. In 1956, after the sudden death of his father, he moved back to his hometown of Senoia and took over the family business, Hutchinson Hardware. He worked here for over 50 years. He was always active in the community: he was a member of Senoia United Methodist Church, serving as the chair of the church's board of administration; was the mayor of Senoia and at that time was the youngest mayor in the State of Georgia. He was a founding member of the Senoia Downtown Development Authority, a member and past president of the Senoia Lions Club, a member of the Senoia Cemetery Committee, and was the first "Young Man of the Year" in Coweta County.

Memorial services were at Senoia United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Danny Barton officiating. Interment was at the Senoia City Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Jane Wilkinson Hutchinson, Senoia; a son, Jim and Melissa Hutchinson III, Newnan; a daughter, Beth and Woody Tripp, Newnan; and grandchildren, Mary-Margaret "Maggie" Lewis Tripp, James Hutchinson "Hutch" Tripp, Andrew "Willis" Tripp, James Benjamin "Jay" Hutchinson IV; and a sister, Eleanor and Orson Smith, Tallahassee, Fla. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.
