Robert "Bob" R. Stewart Jr., Sharpsburg, died Feb. 13, 2009. He was born Sept. 26, 1935 in Newnan, son of the late Robert and Bert Stewart. He worked at Lockheed Martin Marietta as an engineer, and was a member of Cokes Chapel United Methodist Church. He was an honorary member of the Turin Masonic Lodge. He founded and operated a convenience store in Sharpsburg that was known as "Rapid Roberts." Services were at the Stewart Farm with the Rev. John Hagan officiating. Interment was at the Cokes Chapel UMC Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Stewart, Sharpsburg; children, Ken Looper, Kay Looper and Elaine Gartner, all of Sharpsburg; a sister, Ann E. Stewart, Fairburn; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, P. O. Box 838, Newnan, GA 30264. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.
