My name is Vanessa Fleisch and I am announcing my candidacy for the Peachtree City Council Post 4 in the upcoming election.

My family and I have lived in this fabulous community since 1991. It is a wonderful place to live and I want to be a part of City Council in order to preserve the quality of life that we all have come to enjoy.

It is my belief that government that does the least governs the best. We need to foster and encourage the retail development that currently exists within our city limits particularly during this economic climate. To continue to build retail stores while there are numerous vacancies throughout the city is foolish.

Council should also work to bring new industry to this incredible city; we offer a great quality of life that any company would want for its employees.

We need to stay with the village concept; unfortunately the current city government has lost sight of what has made us a great city. Returning to the fundamentals of our land use plan instead of selling streets to accommodate developers should be the focus of council.

I am enormously proud of our police and fire departments; we need a council that will support them as they go about protecting all of us. Public safety has to be the top priority, given the current economic stresses of our society.

In order to come out of this economic slowdown stronger rather than weaker, we need to have someone on the council who will listen to the will of the people of Peachtree City.

As a Realtor I know how important it is for a community to maintain its value, and if elected I will work hard to maintain the integrity of our beautiful city.
