Margaret A. Ramsey, 82, Brooks, formerly of Morrow, died Jan. 23, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil A. and Lucy Jane Montgomery Abbott. She taught school and was a librarian for the Atlanta Public Schools and Morrow Elementary, where she retired in 1982. She was very active in the United Methodist Women, holding several local offices and was past district president of the College Park district. She was also an active member and held offices of Delta Kappa Gamma.

Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Warren Huddleston and the Rev. Gary Parrish officiating. Interment was at Sherwood Memorial Park and Gardens, Jonesboro. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, James L. Ramsey, Brooks; a daughter, Amy and George Parker, Conyers; sisters, Irma and Wesley Young, Ocilla, and Helen and Bob Jones, Ellijay; and nieces, June and Gerald Richardson, Chula, and Mary Ann and Dermot Peacock, Marshall, N.C. Memorial donations may be made to the Running Strong For The Indian Youth, 2550 Huntington Ave., Ste. 200, Alexandria, VA 22303. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
